Effective maintenance of your drawworks means inspection and service of the primary load path. This includes the main drumshaft, service brakes (band or disc type), emergency brakes, spline couplings (where applicable) the drawworks frame and its foundations, connecting it with the rig floor.

We carry out on site Category III 6-monthly inspections, observing your equipment during operation for indications of inadequate performance. We inspect for corrosion, deformation, loose or missing components, deterioration, improper lubrication and visible external cracks. We’ll partially disassemble and further inspect including non-destructive testing of critical areas and components to identify wear that exceeds the manufacturer’s allowable tolerances.

We support our customers with complete Category IV 5 yearly recertification of their drawworks which includes further inspection and complete disassembly, 100% non-destructive testing of all primary load-carrying components as defined by the manufacturer. Repairs are made as necessary to bring all components back within manufacturer tolerances. The equipment is then reassembled, reinstalled and commissioned.

Our ongoing condition assessment and monitoring accommodates clients Category I daily inspection and Category II weekly inspection needs.

Periodically we’ll inspect for wear, cracks and damage to critical components such as bearings, bull gear and pinion, conrods and crossheads. We’ll check the condition of your seals and other rubber goods and look for oil contamination. We’ll inspect your frame and ensure your pump is set up as per the manufacturer’s recommended tolerances, providing feedback and detailed reporting.

Where overhaul is required we’ll take care of complete disassembly, cleaning and NDT. Repairs will be made to machined components as necessary. Bearings, seals and other components will be replaced in line with our inspections. Motors will be overhauled, lube systems serviced and pulsation dampeners recertified. We’ll also check your fluid ends are in spec and can repair or replace. Your pump is then fully reassembled and commissioned.

We can do all of this on site or you can ship your crankshaft to a RigQuip location for workshop overhaul. Either way, we’ll work closely with your rig crew and provide first class start up support.

As part of five yearly maintenance we’ll complete detailed strip down and inspection of your top drive including main shaft, rotating head assembly, gearbox assembly, link tilt assembly, counterbalance, torque arrestor and pipehandler. We’ll then inspect your swing or retract dolly and assess your motor, pumps, cooling system and electrical components.

We’ll make detailed repairs where required, to exacting standards. Any machining or welding will be carried out by RigQuip API Q2 quality system controlled facilities. We’ll provide all of the required spares parts you need, RigQuip approved ahead of reassembly. We can then test your top drive and reinstall and commission on site. We’ll do all of this and provide you with a warranty the same as the manufacturer.

We carry out on site Category III 6-monthly inspections, observing your equipment during operation and look for cracks, loose fits or connections, elongation of parts and other signs of wear, corrosion, overloading or improper lubrication. We’ll inspect sheave grooves and NDT accessible surfaces, reporting any findings outside manufacturers allowable tolerances for correction.

We support our customers with complete Category IV 5 yearly recertification of their travelling equipment where all equipment is completely disassembled, blasted clean, then visual, dimensional and NDT inspected. Machining and welding repairs are made where necessary by RigQuip API Q2 qualified facilities. The equipment is then reassembled, reinstalled and commissioned.

Our ongoing condition assessment and monitoring accommodates clients Category I daily inspection and Category II weekly inspection needs, for signs of wear in operation.

Our expert team carries out complete strip down and detailed visual, dimensional and NDT inspection of all iron roughneck components. We carry out machining, welding and hydraulics repairs as required and rebuild to our proprietary work instructions before function test and client approval.

Over our long history we’ve worked on a huge number of iron roughnecks. We support most major brands and models. We also provide parts and install upgrade kits.

We’ll visit your rig and complete a thorough inspection. This will include a function test, checking for unusual movements, vibration, noises and abnormal operating temperatures. We’ll carry out limited disassembly inspection, including visual and NDT inspection. We’ll collate and analyse our findings, providing you with a complete condition assessment report, including our recommendations.

Our approach prioritises as much on site repair and service as possible. Typical service workscopes might include overhaul of the drive assembly, track assembly, column assembly, carriage assembly, claws, jaws and manifolds. RigQuip provides all of the expertise you need, covering reinstallation, controls troubleshooting and commissioning. We also provide condition monitoring and ongoing condition assessment.

RigQuip carries out complete disassembly and inspection in accordance with rigorous proprietary work instructions. Our engineering team review and provide recommendations. We then put our engineering knowledge to work carrying out detailed repairs including machining, welding, heat treatment and coatings. Repairs are carried out in house or at RigQuip quality approved vendor to exacting technical standards. Your equipment is then meticulously rebuilt with RigQuip approved parts and tested prior to COC provision.

Where required by our customers we will also rebrand pressure control equipment, taking complete technical ownership of the equipment away from the manufacturer, building our own service history and design file for the equipment.

Our experienced team can service your jacking system entirely in the field. We regularly support clients with jacking system service workscopes as part of yard based SPS programmes and in breakdown situations alike. Component jacking gearboxes can also be shipped to a RigQuip workshop locations for inspection and overhaul. We assist with condition monitoring and preventative maintenance plans. All our work is carried out in accordance with our API Q2 service standard and we manage the interface your class certification body.

Our expert team is experienced in complete gearing system inspection and service, including climbing pinions & racks, bearings, shafts & housings, shock pads, brakes & wear plates, and electric and hydraulic drives. We regularly carry out major repairs including machining, welding and gear manufacture and remanufacture.
